What is Fairfield County's Giving Day?
Hosted by Fairfield County's Community Foundation, with lead sponsor Bank of America, Giving Day inspires and empowers our region to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofit organizations in just 24 hours through online donations. It invites those who love Fairfield County to come together and make an incredibly powerful, collective impact by supporting local nonprofits on March 1, 2018. Donors are able to choose where their donations go from our approved list of eligible nonprofits.
The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum. Prize money will be made available to amplify charitable donations, excite nonprofits and donors to participate, and keep momentum going throughout the day. Whether you give $10 or $1,000, your donation will make a difference!
Where can I receive updates about Fairfield County's Giving Day?
Fairfield County's Giving Day is an online event and all activity takes place on FCGives.org. Updates will be posted to FCGives.org, as well as the Community Foundation’s website at FCCFoundation.org, and on Facebook and Twitter (@FCCFoundation).

Who can donate?
Anyone with a credit card and access to the internet via a computer, smart phone or tablet can donate on FCGives.org on March 1, 2018 between 12:00:00 AM - 11:59:59 PM EST.
When can I donate?
Only gifts made on FCGives.org during the 24-hour donation period (12:00am-11:59pm on March 1, 2018) are considered eligible gifts for the day, as well as for Prize dollars. This excludes donations from Donor Advised Funds.
What forms of donations are accepted?
All donations must be made online via FCGives.org using a MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express credit card on March 1, 2018 during Fairfield County's Giving Day. Checks, donations on FCCFoundation.org, and donations made directly to individual nonprofits will not be counted on FCGives.org, and will be ineligible for Giving Day prizes.
Is the website secure?
Yes. Credit card transactions are secure and backed by a PCI Level 1 secure service provider certification. Our technology partner, Kimbia, is the recognized technology leader for fundraising initiatives of this magnitude around the country.
What local organizations are eligible to participate?
All organizations participating in Fairfield County's Giving Day are 501(c)3 charitable organizations and serve residents of Fairfield County. Organizations must have completed an application process to participate.
Are the gifts tax-deductible?
Yes! All donations are tax deductible. You will receive an email receipt via Fairfield County’s Community Foundation immediately following your donation that can be used for tax purposes. You can request an additional email receipt anytime at FCGives.org.
No, you will receive a tax receipt via email for your online gift from Fairfield County's Community Foundation.
Is there a minimum gift size?
Yes, the minimum donation amount is $10.00.
Can I give to multiple organizations?
Yes! On the FCGives.org homepage, you can use the "multi-give" option to streamline your giving process. If you click on a specific organization page and make a donation, you will be prompted to make another gift if you choose. Please note - credit card companies may be alerted, according to their policies, if you make many donations over a short period of time. Credit card companies may question this activity as fraudulent and block your card. These policies are specific to credit card companies and out of our control. You may want to notify your credit card company in advance if you plan to make multiple donations on March 1, 2018.
What if I notice a transaction error?
Donors who notice a credit card transaction error must notify Fairfield County's Community Foundation within 30 days by emailing [email protected]
Can my company match my donation made on Giving Day?
All donations must be made on FCGives.org on March 1, 2018. While we do encourage businesses to provide incentives to their employees, all Giving Day 2018 company matching gifts under $500 received after March 1, 2018 will directly support future Giving Day needs.
How is Bank of America involved in Fairfield County's Giving Day and what information will they collect?
Bank of America has served as Fairfield County's Giving Day champion sponsor since its inaugural campaign in 2014. Bank of America helps fund the prize pool and also serves as a marketing partner, generously promoting Giving Day in each of its Fairfield County branch locations. Bank of America does not receive or collect donor information from Fairfield County's Giving Day.

Does Fairfield County's Community Foundation provide assistance to nonprofit organizations?
Yes! Visit the Toolkit Tab on FCGives.org for helpful tips and free resources to help your team prepare for Giving Day. We also encourage you to take advantage of our Giving Day Training Series. More information can be found on the FCGives.org homepage. Throughout the year, The Community Foundation’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) offers numerous trainings throughout the year to help nonprofit staff build skills and competencies. Refer to the CNE Calendar on FCCFoundation.org for a listing of workshops.

The K Foundation will disburse funds to nonprofits within 60 days of Giving Day (March 1, 2018). The Community Foundation will mail a separate check for any prizes won within the same timeframe.
